Visited my dad's house this afternoon to collect some wool, and I found an old crochet blanket in my cupboard that I thought I had thrown out years ago...it brought a sense of nostalgia to me, as my mum made this for me when I was young and this was my inspiration to learn how to make a granny blanket.
As its over ten years old and has been through the wear and tear of my youthful years, it has gotten a bit tatty, my new found love of crochet makes me want to mend this blanket some how. At least it shows that crocheting is in my genes :)
Yay for christmas projects :D
How cool to find your old blanket. I do hope you repair it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit

Hi Hazel
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by my blog and leaving me my first ever comment! We had better communicate stuff re the Xmas dec swap. Think it would be great to try to repair that dear crochet blanket! Happy crocheting this weekend. X
I hope you're able to repair your old blanket -- what a wonderful thing to be able to give an old, treasured item a new life! :)
ReplyDeleteAwww, the mum blanket. Mine is still at Nana's I think (unless she has thrown it out). Even mum would say that you are better at crochet than she was.
ReplyDeleteYay mustardy things!
Oh I love finding old home makes. I've found some real treasures made by my grannys and love the little bits that used to belong to them which I have in my sewing box.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you could fix it up. Maybe there is a board with tips on ravelry?
Christmas is going to be here before we know it. Arrrrrgh. Love the wool!
thats a lovely blanket it deserves you to fix it !! love the mustard wool.
ReplyDeleteGreat mustard colour, I used a similar colour for my nephew last Christmas. Do try to repair the blanket, it is wonderful! I still have a quilt my Grandma made me when I was a baby, I treasure it.
