2-in-1 Blog

This is going to be a combination of my One a Day and my WIPW :)

My focus on one a day has mainly been making the small squares since I ran out of wool for the border and I will need to wait until the weekend before I get more. This is what I have done of my little squares so far, not many...I can't wait to get more wool for my border, I feel sad not giving my rainbow blanket some proper love.
I have recently started learning to do the wavy stripe, it is only a small bit but I have figured I may do a wavy stripe scarf. The colours are purple and teal blue which you can't see clearly, thanks to my camera not picking the colours up. This is my work in progress for the current moment.
That is it for me, another short and sweet post.

To see who is participating in the one a day, you can check out Ravelry or Gingerbread Girls blog.

To see who is participating in the WIPW, you can check out Tami Amis blog.

Take care people.

One A Day

I should be theoretically sleeping right now, since I have just came off nightshift....but can't seem to sleep for more than 5 hours. I thought I would come on and show you what progress I have made this week, it will be short as I am not feeling to great. So here is what I have done of my border...
.....and this is my plan for once my stripe border finishes, as I wasn't in the mood for multi-coloured once I have finished my two rows of purple and two rows of dark pink (red), I will join these on.
To see who else is participating you can check out the group on Ravelry or go to Gingerbread Girl's blog, I will try and check out everyones' awesome progress soon!

Finished Object Friday

I have made myself some fingerless mittens, as its getting really bitter cold outside and I have not had the time to go to the shops to buy myself a pair because of work he he.
Edit:- The pattern I used for these mittens is from Ravelry, Tulip's Super Easy Gauntlets.
My friend Jade was awesome and spotted some yellow wool in a shop, and got me some...I love her! As the other colours will be so much easier to get than this yellow...but do you agree that this colour matches quite well to this helmet?
This is the last day of being able to enter my blog giveaway, it will close at midnight in american time (5hours behind me), as I will be randomly selecting the winner when I wake up tomorrow morning and announcing then.
Excuse the quality of the pics this time, taken with my phone camera for ease and quickness! I hope to get to catch up on blog reading and give you guys some loving, so don't think I am ignoring you!!

Happy FO

One A Day....Possibly

I haven't progressed majorly since last week, i have two yellow rows, a green row completed since then. It is justifiable though since it is taking longer to crochet around as the blanket grows, as many of you will know.
As well as the blanket growing bigger, I am still getting used to my work routine which is shift-work, this week I am on day shift this is also affecting my crocheting progress.
This is a close up of my border so far, I am very pleased with it. I have blue to crochet, then purple and possibly pink before I start more squares! Exciting!

If you would like to see others that are taking part in the One A Day fun, you should check Ravelry and also Gingerbread Girl's blog...and maybe even join in too!

Don't forget to check out my blog giveaway, you have until Friday 14th October to enter! If you would like to see what is inside the book, I have shared some photographs here.

Senna Inspiration

I am not sure if many of you know much about Formula One, and I must say I don't know a lot about it either. All I can say is that my fiancé is inspired by it, especially the legendary F1 driver Ayrton Senna...
We have just finished watching the Ayrton Senna documentary DVD that arrived through the post today, which was very touching and emotional. My fiancé, Andy, has asked me to make a scarf in a similar style to Senna's helmet.
This means a stripey scarf!

Now all I need to do is find yellow, navy, green and white wool in similar colours to the stripes seen on the helmet. If you can recommend a wool in this yellow colour, it would be much appreciated as I am finding it difficult to find one that matches :D

I feel excited about this project already!

Also don't forget to enter in my blog giveaway, which ends on Friday 14th October!

WIP Wednesday

It's been two weeks since I last posted for WIPW, but this time I have my chunky picasso blanket to show you. I started this originally for myself, as I really love Robin's Chunky Picasso Wool coz it is sooooo soft but I have decided to make it for my nana for christmas.

My blanket so far has been made using two different colours which are cool mint and blueberry drop, I was going to do a variety of different picasso colours but these two were my favourites!
This is what have done so far of my first attempt cushion cover, its a bit wonky but I am going to go with it and see how it turns out in the end!
Thats me for WIPW, if you would like to see what other people are working on check out Tami's Amis blog

Also, I have posted my first blog giveaway HERE for this lovely crochet book

Tis The Season to Giveaway

I can't believe that I have 30 followers already! When I started this blog only a month ago, I thought it would be a quiet one, but I have had the chance to see so many other blogger's blogs and many have been wonderful to me!
I think this is the right time for me to giveaway something that I want to share, and I have decided I want to give someone my "Tis the Season to Crochet" book (as I hinted in a post I wrote previously about the book...where you will get to see some of the pretty things inside the book too).
To enter the giveaway all you need to do is be a follower and leave a comment saying what your favourite thing is about Christmas/the Holidays.....for example my favourite thing about Christmas is getting to see all the fairy lights outside at night time and having mulled wine on a cold night.
You have until midnight on Friday 14th October to enter, and I will pick a winner on Saturday morning. You need to be able to give me your email address so you can provide an address if you are the lucky winner :) Hopefully I will have figured out the random number generator by then! Please spread the word of my giveaway, thank you!

Take care my lovely fellow bloggers!

P.S. Thank you for all the different wool/yarn recommendations, I am going to write them all down and then I can try them ALL out he he :) Not in the one go of course!

One A Day Rainbow Blanket

Hello guys, here is my progress for one a day this week....just doing a border just now where I do two rows of each rainbow colour...I am on yellow just now, so the next colour will be green, then blue, then purple. After that I may add more squares, think this is gonna be a big one :)
My first day at work went pretty well yesterday, although my legs are aching as I am standing or moving about all day. To think I was going to start up the gym again, don't think I need to now :)

Keeping this short and sweet, but going to try and see everyone else's work. If you would like to see other people that are joining in the one a day fun, you can check out the group on Ravelry and also Gingerbread girl's blog.

P.S What wool/yarn would you recommend for me to buy? I have mainly been using Robin's wool as it is affordable so I don't really know what the good ones are...all opinions will be appreciated :)

Tis the Season to Crochet

I have had a rather busy week so far, although I have been good at keeping up with my One A Day project, and my secret project (which is nearly finished -hurrah!). On Thursday I had a meeting to sign the paperwork for starting my new job on Monday!!
After that meeting I wandered down to The Works, a pretty awesome bookshop, to browse the craft books for any awesome crochet books. I found one!!!! It is called, "Tis the Season to Crochet" and of course I bought it as it was only £4 (this is the amazing thing about The prices!!). So here is the book itself...
And here are some of the lovelies that I found inside the book....
 Christmas Ornament Trims
Snowman Wine Bottle Cover & Lacy Snowballs Table Set
Golden-Glow Throw & Blue Christmas Throw
Favourite Colours Gift Afghan & Child Plush Warmer
Santa's Girl Floral Cardigan & Keep Warm Teddy Set
Sleepy Bear Huggins

These are pictures of some of my favourite ones from the book but there are many more! Since it is a wonderful book, I am contemplating buying another one to giveaway as a little pre-christmas thing as I would love to share it with someone else....So watch this space!
