We have just finished watching the Ayrton Senna documentary DVD that arrived through the post today, which was very touching and emotional. My fiancé, Andy, has asked me to make a scarf in a similar style to Senna's helmet.
This means a stripey scarf!
Now all I need to do is find yellow, navy, green and white wool in similar colours to the stripes seen on the helmet. If you can recommend a wool in this yellow colour, it would be much appreciated as I am finding it difficult to find one that matches :D
I feel excited about this project already!
Also don't forget to enter in my blog giveaway, which ends on Friday 14th October!
Hmmmm, that yellow could be tricky. I'll keep my eyes open for you. Great idea for a scarf though.
ReplyDeleteF1 might be the perfect sport for a crochet persons partner to watch. Hours of sitting still with no real requirement to pay attention to what's on tv while keeping your man company? Brilliant.
The Senna film is amazing. Everyone should watch it. I have no idea on the yellow - sorry!
ReplyDeleteFor the Yellow, and all the other colors, I would try Plymouth Yarn Encore DK, colorway #1382. I think it will match! Let me know if this helps you. Good luck with your scarf.
ReplyDeleteThat's going to be a great scarf. I wish my boy wanted an interestingly colour one. The one I'm making for him is entirely black...
ReplyDeleteIf you like, I could print/make a couple of patches that look like the logos for you to sew on?
ReplyDeleteGreat inspiration there! Bright and manly colors.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! Maybe you could try dying your own wool. Using Kool-Aid dye is really simple. Maybe the yellow would match up. I hope to work up a few of those fun halloween projects too. My friend thinks that spiderweb garland is to die for. And since she doesn't crochet... As always happy to see you at Tangled Happy! Happy Sunday. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that Andy was inspired by the helmet and then asked you to crochet him a scarf. It'll be fun matching up the colors -- good luck -- and casting on. Hmmm, is that what you say in crochet? :)
