Teapot Cosy Ta Dah!

Pattern: my own
Hook: 4mm
Yarn: Robin's DK - Red
All other colours are from B&M Bargains.

On Friday I was a little bit frustrated with not achieving any finished objects, so I decided to treat myself to some crochet magazines for some inspiration for a new 'small' project. In Love Crochet magazine there is a pattern for a vintage teapot cosy, which I thought was a great project to do....until I realised my favourite teapot doesn't have a traditional spout. I didn't let this deter me, and used my initiative to create my own teapot cosy which is completely different from the one in the magazine but I love it!

If I were to repeat this again, I would crochet a few extra treble clusters in each round as I felt the cosy was very snug on the teapot, this is why I opted to have a button at the top as I couldn't slip the cosy on. Although I do love the button, as it gives the cosy that extra added touch!

Now I can happily go back to my granny footstool cover.

Hope you are all having a good weekend!

  3. Its perfect! What a great idea. I probably should make something for my glass teapot too. I just bought a new one for making herbal brews and its a little larger than my old one which the kids dropped. Love the bright colours you have used. Its making me feel warm and cozy just looking at it. :-) Its getting a bit brisk in the mornings down here. I am sitting under my granny blanket sipping hot coffee. By midday it will probably be hot again. Hugs lovely, have a beautiful day. xox

  6. This would make me smile every time I poured tea. I want a teapot now just so I can yarn bomb it!
