At the weekend I got really frustrated with my kitchen, and the lack of love we give it as it seemed to be a cluttered mess all the time and a place I tend to avoid! Around midnight one night, I went on a de-clutter cleaning frenzy with it and have vowed to keep it clean (that includes the mister as well).
Another thing in the kitchen that was lacking love was one of my plants, as you can see it is not very bright as it sits in amongst its colourful friends. On Monday morning I decided to make it happy by crocheting a little striped cosy jacket for it. I used stylecraft special DK to make the jacket, and a 3.5mm hook so that it didn't look holey when it stretched over the plant pot.
I love looking at my kitchen window sill and seeing how happy it looks with its friends now, if not even more cheerful! I am also currently working on another cosy for something in my kitchen but it should be a really quick one, and it will have similar colours to my little plant pot...so I will show you when it is finished!! I could very easily crochet cosies for many things, but I promise not to go crazy!
Linking this post in with FO Friday over at Tami's, go and check other FOs!
Take care!

I love that it's only the one with a jacket, looks like a little rebel.
ReplyDeleteThank you, and it does look like a happy rebel doesn't it?
DeleteIt looks lovely Hazel, nice stripes:)

hehehe cute touch!
ReplyDeleteCute cozy ... it really stands out! I de-cluttered our kitchen too. I decided I wanted the countertops entirely bare. I wasn't home when my husband returned from work and he wondered whether I'd moved out :)
ReplyDeleteHe he, that sounds quite funny! And thank you, its a nice feeling having a clear kitchen isn't it?
DeleteAwesome coisies! So cheerful.
ReplyDeleteHere's my FO: http://mibruno.com/terminada-alicia/
It's cute! Now you have to do it for all your pots.
ReplyDeleteHe he, do you think so? I might do it when I fancy a change of colour...plant pots are quite expensive!!
DeleteGeez... being a plant person I was reading the beginning of this posting thinking WTH is she taking about. Those plants are happy and glowing and loverly indeed! LOL Then I thought its the pot! And yes was rather relieved that you brightened up the pot and not the plants. Coz I will have you know your plants are vibrant and well loved whether you know it or not. They are happy plants indeed! Great job beautiful! Well the one of the furthest right would prefer to be right in the sun. But other than that they are happy! Maybe give them turns in the middle of the window? Beautiful pot cover! Love it! Hugs xoxox
ReplyDeleteHe he, oh I know they are happy....and it usually is in the middle but I changed them about to take this photograph. SO giving the little one a bit of time in the sun as it is usually in the corner :)
DeleteVery cute and yes it brightens it up...
ReplyDeleteSo sweet - it goes really beautifully with its friends now :)

Such a sweet snuggley cover I made them for jam jars earlier in the year - they can become addictive and you may start covering everything or that might just be me x
ReplyDeleteHe he, thank you! I have several jam jars in cosies around the house....I even have a stash of jam jars in the cupboard ready to be put in a cosy! I'm trying my hardest not to put cosies on everything though!!
DeleteWe are so very lucky that all it takes to make us happy is a beautiful stripy coat for everyday objects. It looks fab
ReplyDeleteI love your little pots jacket. I would never had thought to do that and I have been looking everywhere for some purple pots for my kitchen. Now I can stop looking and maybe pinch your pattern from you if you wouldn't mind.

Oh you totally should crochet a little purple cosy!
DeleteI could try writing a pattern, I am not very good at pattern writing though he he!
Did you make it up as you went along? Maybe I should scour a few magazines, see if they have something that will look like yours. I'm not very good with making something without a pattern, except a Granny Square :)

That is so cute and cheery!
ReplyDeleteDecluttering must have been in the air, that's how I spent my weekend! I love your little cactus cozy!
ReplyDeleteI need to make a plantpot cover thingy, I've got an ugly dark red pot with a big chip in it, this would be a fab way of hiding it :)
