Pom poms and Squares

I decided to show you my pompom rug progress, which is going very very slow. According to my instagram history, I started this in June and it is still not even half way. But I really love all the random colours together, and I am using different shades of pink, blue, green, purple and red. It's great buying yarn for it as I just pick up random cheap yarn from different shops to add the variety in shades, although it is definitely a yarn eater! I am not expecting to finish this until late next year or maybe the start of 2015.....I am really not in a rush with this project at all!

The Man Blanket was my travelling crochet project at the weekend when I went up north to the Highlands, I think I managed to get 9 rounds done while being in the car. I know 9 rounds doesn't sound a lot when we drove around 400 miles all in...but I was crocheting at a leisurely pace and being distracted by the lovely scenery that I was surrounded with. The Highlands are so remote and peaceful looking.

I have started another new project, but I haven't had the time to take a proper photograph of it in daytime light because I have been doing over time at work, and night time lighting doesn't do justice for the colours of yarn. Can't wait for Friday either as I have proper photographs of my chunky ripple blanket to show you!

Anyway I am going to go back to hooking my new project!

Take care,

Hazel x

  1. I can't crochet in the car, I have to keep looking down at what I'm doing and that makes me car sick :( I can knit just fine though, as long as it isn't too complicated.

    Your pompom rug is amazing

    1. I always stick to really easy crochet projects like granny squares, stripes or hexagons....as I can crochet these without having to look at it too much :)

      Thank you :)

  3. Your pom pom rug is looking so fabulous. I wish I could crochet in the car, unfortunately it makes me feel too queasy.

  4. It will be so fun to step on that pom pom rug. How're you tacking them down? Nine stripes is a lot since the numbers increase with every round. I can knit or hook in the car unless we're on a winding road.

  8. Hey Hunni. Cute blog, love your pom pom rug idea. Might have a go myself for my little touring caravans bathroom floor.
I don't have a blog, well, I do but I'm a student nurse and haven't had the time to commit to keep it up but I have a little facebook page where I share my crocheting makes and inspirations, no sales. It's : Heart Rachel Mail, if you're passing, pop over and say hi, be lovely to chat crochet with you, I'm always loving that but never have much chance to keep up with things as much as some people do, if only I could be a stay home crocheter, when I win the lottery eh? Hahaha xxxx
Thanks for the inspiration, if it's ok I will share your blog on my page, I'm sure it will be very popular?
    Ok, bye xxxx
