Diamond Striped Blanket

I have so many blankets on the go right now, although only two are my main focus. I have been crocheting a couch throw for my sister using the chevron pattern. However today I am showing you my favourite project right now, my diamond striped blanket. The pattern is so easy, its almost like doing a granny stripe blanket with the exception of the shells being a cluster of two stitches instead of three. I found the tutorial on pinterest, and knew I had to make my own!

It is great for using up your stash of different colours, although because I have a lot of cream in this blanket....I have used about two skeins already! The blanket is so pretty that I don't mind buying more cream for it every now and then. What I am showing you now has taken me a whole month to do, and I imagine it will take me until the end of 2014 before I have it completed.

It is such a relaxing project, totally worth it.

I am linking up with Chrissie today, where you get to show off what crochet project you are into right now. Well that's me for now.

Take care,

Hazel

  2. Such a pretty Blanket, I love the stitch it looks very effective. The cream certainly works well with the colours you have chosen. There seems to be a fair few Granny Stripe Blankets about at the moment that I liked the look of and thought how nice one would be to do of an evening when you don't really want to think. Is your stitch as easy as the Granny Stripe ?

  13. It's really nice, the cream really lifts the colours and makes them look bright and cheerful. I have plans to make a ripple using a similar idea but possibly having the colours in a rainbow

  15. Aaargh - I have just found your beautiful blog and discovered you have used the exact template and background as mine - great minds think alike! Mine is also about crochet and I have only just gotten it up and running. So it is time for a rethink - you were most definitely here first. This is like the equivalent of turning up at a party and someone is wearing your dress...

I am going to put your blog in my blog list though because I love it anyway.
