Still Here!

Today I have finally had an urge to do a little scribble on my blog, its only been over a month! I can't make excuses, as I just plain didn't feel like typing and the same has been with my crochet. I have had one project on the go for a whole month and a bit, and today I feel like showing you it.

A friend made an order request for three cushions for his mum's birthday as he always liked how good my cushions are. He said I could design them anyway I wanted as long as they had the letters MUM on them, and this is what I came up with. I gave the cushions a solid plain granny square on the back in the colours to match the letter on the front. This means she can change it up every now and then if she doesn't feel like having the letters on show all the time. I am around 50 little cream squares away from finishing the fronts, then I just need to buy the cushion pads so I can join the front and backs of each cushion together. I have until the beginning of july to get them finished, but hopefully it shouldn't take me too long to do them.

When I said this was the only project I have been doing, it means that my mood blanket has been on hold...and I don't even want to count how many weeks I am behind!! However I have been recording my moods, to make it easy enough to catch up again so that is something at least.  I hope others are still getting on really well with their mood blankets, and I will definitely need to check out blogs to see how they look.

Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine!

Take care,

Hazel x

  3. Hello and welcome back! Love these clever cushions, they will make a sweet gift. I wonder if you could add a colour to your mood blanket - 'overwhelmed'?!? I'd use a variegated yarn, to symbolise the multitude of emotions when one is overly busy...but I think my mood blanket would be predominantly this jumble of shades! Chrissie x
