Crochet Mood Blanket 2014 - Week 3

Hello everyone! I am posting this a bit late today since I am not organised at all this week!! For those who haven't read about the crochet mood blanket, the details are on my first post right here.

My week 3 square is red.....oh dear! The harmony of 2014 didn't last very long. Though not to worry, it didn't take long before I was happy and relaxed again. I was on night shift on my 'crochet mood square day', and it was a truly awful stressful night at work! I ended up really unwell later this day (totally unrelated) and caught whatever nasty bug that was going about. Thankfully I recovered by the weekend, and was able to return to work yesterday.

I have edited green from refreshed (since it didn't feel relevant), and changed it to unwell since that has occurred to me more often than I anticipated this month. A recap of my colour and moods!

Colour Moods
Purple - Happiness
Blue - Calm
Green - Unwell
Yellow- Excited
Orange - Creative
Pink - Loved
Red - Extremely Emotional (Anger/PMS)
Grey - Meh

All The Pretty Yarns

During the Boxing Day Madness, I spontaneously treated myself to some yarn from Raindrops Yarn. Through her facebook page she had a sale, and I got weak and chose two that I favoured most. They came through the mail during the week, and it is so nice to admire how pretty they are!

Extra Fine Merino Wool DK - Navy & Teal

Extra Fine Merino Wool with Silk/Sparkle DK - Chocolate Mint

I don't often purchase yarn without a purpose, and I am now in the situation I am not sure what to make with these two hanks.....as it has to be something that can be made with this amount of yarn. What would you do with singular skeins/balls/hanks?

I hope you all have a nice weekend,

Hazel x

Bloomin' CAL...Joining Together

It is great to see that Bloomin' CAL is back on with Chrissie and Ladybird Diaries. I've been missing it a little bit over the Holidays and missing the weekly motivation to keep going with my hexagon project. Recently I decided to join together the hexagons that I have crocheted already, although I have learned that I really don't like sewing motifs together.....its so off putting! I wish I had just done my usual 'join as you go' trick that I do with blankets, unless anyone has a great technique when it comes to joining hexagons.....please enlighten me! Other than that, I am really pleased with how it is turning out and I have decided I am going to make this a baby blanket, for my sanity and keep it for whenever a baby is born in my family.

Planning to crochet more hexagons sometime this week, would really like to see how this looks when it's finished!!

I am joining in on the Bloomin' CAL with Chrissie Crafts and Ladybird Diaries, so check out their pages for more projects on the Bloomin' Crochet-A-Long if you fancy joining in!

Crochet Mood Blanket 2014 - Week 2

Hello everyone! So far my progress in the crochet mood blanket is two squares, I took all of your advice and thought that doing one square a week would be much easier near the end of the year as I don't really want reds and greys near Christmas time if I chose to do a giant square. For those who haven't read about the crochet mood blanket, the details are on my first post right here.

I am going to include the description of what mood my colours are every week that I post, as it is really easy to forget what my colours mean. Week 1 is purple and week 2 is blue.

Purple - Happiness
Blue - Calm
Green - Refreshed
Yellow- Excited
Orange - Creative
Pink - Loved
Red - Extremely Emotional (Anger/PMS)
Grey - Meh

I keep being tempted to do one square a day, but I don't want to overwhelm myself. I just distract myself with the five blankets I already have on the go.

Total Blanket Love

Earlier this week I took the time to go over my WIPs, to take stock on all the things I started last year.....and it became pretty clear that I have a slight addiction to blankets. These don't even include my newest addition, which is my mood blanket. I am rather pleased that they are all different, and I can't wait to finish every one of them!

My aim for this year is to finish all of these!

I love blankets.

Take care!

Crochet Mood Blanket 2014 - Week 1

Hello everyone! So far my progress in the crochet mood blanket is 4 rounds of purple and a round of cream. I am going to add more every week, next addition will be tomorrow since the 8th January is the beginning of the second week of 2014. Does that make sense? For those who haven't read about the crochet mood blanket, the details are on my first post right here.

I finally settled on what colours will represent my moods, and I kept it very simple as I didn't want the finished blanket being too sore on the eyes.

Purple - Happiness
Blue - Calm
Green - Refreshed
Yellow- Excited
Orange - Creative
Pink - Loved
Red - Extremely Emotional (Anger/PMS)
Grey - Meh

The only thing I am still undecided on, is whether to do 52 small squares bordered by cream which could look something like.....

Or make a giant granny square blanket by adding each week onto my square above to make something like this...

Which one do you think I should follow for inspiration?

I am posting my progress every Tuesday with a Mr Linky, so if you want to share your progress every week on your blog...here is the place to do it!! Can you please share this, so people know they can link their blogs here in future, I would appreciate it very much!

Crochet Mood Blanket 2014 - Introduce Your Blog!

Hello! I was planning to wait until Tuesday for everyone to link their blog posts on my page to share with everyone but I want to run a testing post that allows everyone that is taking part to link their blog and introduce themselves. For those that haven't read my last post, I am taking part in a crochet mood blanket project. The details are on my first post right here

You can choose to do either one square/hexagon/row a day or one a week, I have chosen to make 52 squares as I think one a day would be overwhelming for me. I have done one square but I am going to post about it next Tuesday! I am going to post every Tuesday, so if you want to share your progress every week on your blog...here is the place to do it!! Can you please share that people can link their blogs here in your future posts, I would appreciate it very much!
