Spring Flower Crochet Coaster Pattern

Today I get to show you the tutorial I made, as I was contacted yesterday to say that my tutorial has been published on Country Baskets.....very excited!

Yarn: Wendy Mode DK (Cameo, Sorrel, Lychee), Robin DK (Cream
Hook: 4mm

I mentioned this briefly in my last post, however back in February I received an email from a lovely lady on behalf of Country Baskets asking if I would like to make a contribution to the Country Basket's Idea Library. They mentioned that they had seen my blog and really liked some of the items I have crocheted, and said that I would be an ideal crafty person for making a craft idea for their website. All I had to do is come up with a simple gift/decoration idea for Mother's Day, crochet and write a tutorial for it!

It was such a fun challenge, trying to put into words what I am doing. Even though I know this pattern very well in my head and by hand, its very difficult to transfer that into a simple tutorial but I managed it. After a few edits both Country Baskets and I were happy with the results, and now I get to share it with everyone. Let me know what you think.

I am also linking in with Chrissie with What's On Your Hook!

Take care everyone,

Hazel

Crochet Mood Blanket - Week 11

This is going to be a quick-ish post as I am not long in from work, and just had something to eat. I really want to relax with some crochet and a cuppa right now rather than being on the computer! I know we are quite far ahead but for those who haven't read about the crochet mood blanket, the details are on my first post right here.

This week's square is a lovely bright orange one as I have been feeling really creative again recently, especially with my latest colourful project! I have also been writing a tutorial for a website called Country Baskets for their Ideas Library. I was asked if I would like to make something and write a tutorial for a simple Mother's Day gift/decoration, which I gladly accepted! I am still waiting for it to go live, as I think it is going to be added in with various other craft ideas!

Back to the mood blanket! To remind everyone, here  is list my colours and what they mean.

Colour Moods
Purple - Happiness
Blue - Calm
Green - Unwell
Yellow- Excited
Orange - Creative

My Birthday Week

Well that is my birthday week almost coming to an end and I just wanted a quick little post to show you all the lovely things I got this week!!

From my sister This Girl Is.. I got a few Cath Kidston things, a travel sewing kit, a spotty mug, and a lovely hearty biscuit plate. She also gave me a black cat necklace and on the day we met up for my birthday lunch she bought me a beautiful three-piece china tea set. For our lunch we went to The Sloan's Cake Salon for an afternoon tea served with a glass of Prosecco, truly spoiled me!

With my birthday money I treated myself to a few things from my favourite store Joy, as I only usually buy things from there when I feel like being good to myself. I bought a lovely satin leopard print dress and a very soft spring looking jumper! A result to buying myself these, the store gave me the beautiful rainbow ribbon necklace for nothing.

This weekend I am also getting time to spend with my friends, so there has been very little time to crochet but I am a very happy girl and loving life at the moment!!

Hope you are all having a good weekend!

Take care,

Hazel x

Crochet Mood Blanket - Week 10

It is so nice being able to write to you during the day, where the sun is shining through the window and I am listening to music and drinking a lovely cup of tea. That is a result of having a holiday from work for a few days, it leaves you feeling more upbeat, refreshed and also quite productive. My mood blanket is now up to date as well, as last week I only showed you up to week 8!! I know we are quite far ahead but for those who haven't read about the crochet mood blanket, the details are on my first post right here.

My week 9 square is the blue one, as I was pretty chilled out on the day I made this one because I wasn't doing any overtime at work that day. My week 10 square is a yellow one as I was feeling quite excited that I only had one more night to work before I was I on holiday from work. I also have a happy purple heart square to represent my birthday, which was yesterday (I'm 27 years old now!). I am going to do another blog post this week on my birthday presents, and other projects!

Edit - I have had several people asking me about the pattern for the granny heart square I am using in my blanket, I found a tutorial on Ursula Glitch's blog. Hope this helps!!

Just to remind everyone, here  is list my colours and what they mean.

Colour Moods
Purple - Happiness
Blue - Calm
Green - Unwell
Yellow- Excited
Orange - Creative
Pink - Loved
Red - Extremely Emotional (Anger/PMS)

Candle Jar Covers

I have been quite productive this week and slightly addicted to making candle jar covers. They have always been on my list of things to try and crochet. The ones I commonly see are made with cream yarn, so a cream jar cover is what I made. Isn't it so pretty!? I found the pattern through pinterest, thanks to a lovely Fondrari who has written the pattern for us on her blog!

Although I could't stop at just one cover! I made another one using the same pattern but with pink yarn!!

Oh I can't be too sneaky can I? As you can see another in the background....a purple one! Well for this one I wanted to try another pattern which has been found on Nature Nut's blog. I think both patterns are very pretty!!

However.........they aren't truly stunning until you capture them in the dark being lit up with a small tea light candle. They are absolutely magnificent! I have been so excited to show you these all week!

Now I better get back to crocheting some blankets!!

Take care and have a good weekend everyone!

Crochet Mood Blanket - Week 9

Oops! I seemed to have missed week 8, the side effects from being addicted to games he he. Although I think it was a small much needed break from bloggy land. Last week I just had no motivation whatsoever to blog, but I hope you still managed to see other peoples' mood blankets! I have soooooo many blogs to catch up on but I am looking forward to spending this evening reading them with a cuppa tea and some biscuits! I even have other pictures of crochet goodness to show you, but I am keeping that for a blog post later this week!!

As well as not doing my weekly blog post, I am totally a square behind....so maybe next week will be another double square show! I do have a long weekend since, which will definitely give me time to catch up on all the crafty love! Any I know we are this far ahead but for those who haven't read about the crochet mood blanket, the details are on my first post right here.

My week 8 square is a happy purple one, although I don't think I was happy for any particular reason except for work possibly being a good day when I made that square. As I always do, is list my colours and what they mean as a reminder every week!

Colour Moods
Purple - Happiness
Blue - Calm
Green - Unwell
Yellow- Excited
Orange - Creative
Pink - Loved
Red - Extremely Emotional (Anger/PMS)
